Despite the current economic climate and recent announcements by the Welsh Government, subsidised business support is still available through a number of programme's and Landsker Business Centre is able to offer a range of assistance across a number of industry sectors.
The Welsh Government host a Business Support Finder which allows you to search for potential sources of help with starting up, running or developing your business. Support may be available in a number of forms including financial assistance and free or subsidised services which provide advice.
As a private sector business and management consultancy Landsker has extensive experience and expertise in helping both rural and urban businesses and is familiar with the many challenges faced in trading locally and further a field Wales presents its own particular commercial climate and it is one that we really understand.
In addition to funded support programme's, Landsker works with clients on a private basis to ensure their requirements are met and that they get the assistance they need. Landsker provides fully funded pre and post business start up mentoring support of up to 30 hours for graduates or those with qualifications to level NVQ 4 and above who are looking to set up a new business.
Landsker supports fisheries businesses in accessing the European Fisheries Fund (EFF) - the new fund for European Union (EU) fisheries grants operating until December 2013. Fully funded business support is available from appointed Food Business Development Advisors to help build business and project plans, collate necessary supporting documentation and complete the application form. Money is available for fishermen, processing and aqua culture businesses, towards improvements onboard fishing vessels, marketing fish products and for projects which will benefit groups of people who work in the fishing industry, such as harbour improvements.
Expert and subsidised support is available for new and established businesses in theses sectors who are looking to expand, diversify or increase their operating capacity. Support includes professional advice on practical aspects of how they should set up or grow their business as well as more technical help in preparing business plans, bidding for specialist funding and undertaking feasibility studies. Further guidance can be sought to carry out market research, develop marketing plans and explore new markets.
Specialist subsidised consultancy support is available to further develop farm businesses with a focus on business and financial planning and advice on diversification, tourism, agro food, timber and renewable energy.
Existing or new business looking to re-establish or create a new retail presence in a rural setting may be eligible for subsidised specialist consultancy support to determine what type of retail business to establish and how best to approach it.
Not for profit groups, 'more than' profit organisations and social enterprises employing staff or looking to create employment opportunities can access fully subsidised support to get established or develop including business strategy development, sales and marketing planning and people management advice.
Landsker can provide expert support in applying for the Welsh Government’s Tourism Investment Support Scheme (TISS). Established by Visit Wales to support their vision to build a more customer-responsive, innovative, sustainable and profitable industry, TISS is open for both existing and new tourism businesses in Wales. Support is available for the purpose of upgrading the quality of facilities and increasing capacity where there is a gap in the market and where the planned development will directly benefit energy efficiency or environmental improvement.
For existing businesses who are looking to expand and/or diversify or want to protect themselves against difficult trading conditions, especially when safeguarding or creating new jobs, bespoke and subsidised consultancy support can be provided including devising a new strategy, creating new sales and marketing plans, developing business plans and helping with grant bids and other specialist projects. If you are not eligible for subsidised support, we will work with you to provide a cost effective alternative. Funding for capital developments can be accessed through a number of schemes and programme's including the Local Investment Fund and Pembrokeshire Lottery
